Grécia em setembro é uma excelente ideia. Mikonos, então, nem se fala. Fica no Mar Egeu e é uma das ilhas do arquipélago das Cíclades. Foi cenário da luta entre Zeus e os Gigantes - isso, porém, há muito tempo. Tem uma área de 86 km² e uma elevação máxima de 364 metros e pouca água, e é composta principalmente de granito. Tem menos de 7 mil habitantes permanentes. Mas no verão, ferve.
Por isso, setembro (outono) é um mês perfeito para conhecer Mikonos. As multidões partiram, os preços abaixaram, a loucura passou. Mas as praias continuam tão bonitas quanto, a comida ainda é maravilhosa e o clima é mais agradável do que quando o sol parecia derreter o miolo.
Chega-se de avião, e a vista é mágica, mas a travessia de ferry desde o porto do Pireu também não é de se jogar fora. Há conexões por mar com várias das ilhas do arredores - entre elas a bela e vulcânica Santorini.
A ilha é pequena e o circuito, óbvio. A palavra que sintetiza tudo é hedonismo. Vale experimentar algumas das praias, onde o naturismo é moeda corrente (Super Paradise é a mais famosa e, definitivamente, a mais gay friendly) e se deixar levar na gastronomia: vinhos, frutos-de-mar, queijos, frutas.
Junto com os moinhos de vento e as casinhas de Little Venice, uma das imagens que representam a ilha tem bico e asas: Petros, o pelicano. Na verdade, o pelicano atual é sucessor do Petros original, que desembarcara após uma tempestade, em 1950; ele vive no porto e é muito sociável. Dica de quem já foi: faça o esforço e acorde cedo, bem cedo, para acompanhar a chegada dos pescadores e as cenas no mercado.
